To enter chat simply pick a name for yourself and type it in "Nickname"
You can enter your e-mail address in the next box... (Optional)
Then simply hit the connect button.

You will then be transported to the ShiftingDunes.com Chat room.

It is possible that the nickname you have chosen for yourself is already taken. If this is the case then the chat program may ask you to change your nickname.

To change your nickname while in the chatroom simply type /nick newnickname. Of course you would replace newnickname with the nickname of your choice.

It is possible to register your nickname, assuming that it isn't already registerd by someone else, by simply typing /nickserv register password emailaddress. You would replace password with the password you wish to use and you should enter your e-mail address. This will not result in spam, though you are certainly able to use a ficticious email address if you wish.

Once you have registered your nickname you will be prompted to enter your password each time you log in. If, for some reason the chat program does not prompt you, you can tell nickserv who you are by typing /nickserv identify password, replacing password with the password you chose when you registered.
