Each 2 oz jar of PROGESTON-10TM skin cream contains 10% or 5,700 mg. of Wild Mexican Yam Root extract which can be absorbed through the skin.

The Wild Mexican Yam (Dioscorea Villosa) has large, heart-shaped leaves and small flowers and grows wild in Mexico and South America. It was used in the 18th and 19th centuries for women's special health needs and to promote women's health and well being.

PROGESTONE-10TM  is a pleasant to use, moisturizing cream which is easily absorbed into the skin. The amount used each day can be divided into two applications or applied once daily. Apply it to the areas of the body where the skin is soft, such as the neck, throat, upper chest, stomach, abdomen, face, breast, inner arms, and inside of thighs.  One authority recommends that you rotate application sites to assure best absorption, using a different body site for each of 4 days, then repeating.

Apply after bathing. It is recommended that you not use other lotions, creams or makeup on the skin to which you are applying PROGESTON-10TM in order to prevent any possible interference with absorption. If you intend to use another cream, apply the PROGESTONE-10TM first and allow to absorb for 20 to 30 minutes before using other products.

When starting to use PROGESTONE-10TM, much of the Wild Mexican Yam extract is adsorbed into the fat tissue, so some women will begin to feel full results only after 2 or 3 months (when the fat tissues are more saturated). However, most women report feeling results very quickly.

These suggestions are only guidelines and give information about what many women have reported as being helpful for them. The right amount to use is the amount which works for you. You can begin by using the suggested amounts them adjust if you need to based on how you feel or upon consultation with your health professional. When increasing the amount of cream used, women experiment by increasing by 1/4 teaspoon at a time. The natural safety of this product allows a great deal of latitude. There have been some good books written about women's use of Wild Mexican Yam Root extract cream during PMS, Pre-menopause, Menopause, and Post-Menopause. To assist absorption and to obtain maximum benefits from PROGESTONE-10TM , it is important to stop using it for a short time each month. Discontinue use for a week or at least 4-5 days during each menstrual cycle or calendar month (for women who are still menstruating, the use of the cream can be stopped during the menstrual period). This will help maintain the body's ability to absorb and use PROGESTONE-10TM (it will help maintain what is called "receptor sensitivity").

Our product, PROGESTONE-10TM , contains more than twice the amount (by weight) of Wild Mexican Yam Root extracts as similar creams. Therefore, the amount a person may want to use should be adjusted accordingly.

Many women who have had PMS report being very pleased with PROGESTONE-10TM with light PMS, the use is daily for 7-10 days before the beginning of the menstrual period, applying 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon daily to the skin. With moderate to severe PMS, apply the cream daily beginning about a week after your cycle ends, before you begin to experience PMS (on approximately day 12, counting the first day of the period as day 1) until just before your cycle begins again (day 26 or 27), applying 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon each day. THen repeat the cycle each month. Some women like to use 1/4 teaspoon daily during the first week of their monthly use, increasing the amount to 1/2 teaspoon during the week just before their menstrual cycle when they would normally experience PMS symptoms. Some women report that they are able to decrease the amount of cream applied after 6 months of use. To relieve cramping, many women apply the cream to the abdomen each half hour until cramping subsides.

Many women have found PROGESTONE-10TM to be very beneficial during the years just before menopause. Progesterone levels begin to decline at least several years before estrogen levels decline. For many women, progesterone levels may begin to decline in their early 40's or even earlier.

With hot flashes- many women apply 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of cream each time they have a hot flash. When they feel that the hot flashes are under control or if they are not troubled by hot flashes, they use the cream daily, once or twice a day. One authority recommends daily application  from day 12 to day 26 of the menstrual cycle ( day 1 is the first day of the menstrual cycle). Many women apply 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon each day of use or as needed.

After menopause (or after a hysterectomy), women no longer have menstrual periods. Many women apply PROGESTONE-10TM daily for approximately 3 weeks out of the calendar month, on a regular basis. You may select either the first 3 weeks or the last 3 weeks of the month, as you prefer. It is important you discontinue use of PROGESTONE-10TM for a week or at least 4-5 days during each month to help the body's ability absorb and obtain maximum benefits from the product. Many women begin by using from one-half jar to one whole jar a month for the first three months. After that, depending upon how they feel, they reduce the amount used to one-half jar or even one-quarter jar per month. With vaginal dryness, some women use 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon intravaginally, in place of or in addition to their daily application.

Many women and some health care professionals report that Wild Mexican Yam Root creams, including PROGESTONE-10TM , are affective for strengthening bones and helping prevent osteoporosis. While this has not yet been proven, there is anecdotal information and reported clinical experience to support this view. For more information about this, consult the suggested reading list below.

For optimum results it is best to combine PROGESTONE-10TM use with a good diet (including green, leafy vegetables, fruits and whole grains), moderate exercise and good vitamin supplement.

There have been no reports of any significant side effects or health problems associated with the use of PROGESTONE-10TM but we encourage you to work with a trusted health care provider. There have been some reports of spotting, which is generally temporary. If you have a medical condition which persist, consult with your physician. Persistent medical conditions of any kind should be checked by a physician. For example, if a women should experience persistent headaches, breakthrough bleeding or spotting, she should consult her physician.

There have been reports that when more balanced health is promoted with the use of Wild Mexican Yam cream, thyroid hormone is used more effectively. Women who are using thyroid supplement may wish to consult their physician about the possibility of the need to lower the amount of their medication.
